"A TASTE OF
MONTESSORI"

WINDSOR MONTESSORI
SUMMER CAMP
A Taste of Montessori
is half and full day programs developed
for children three through five years of
age and offered in one week segments for
eight weeks during the summer. The
concept is to provide young children
with opportunities for making friends,
learning new skills, and developing
existing ones. The environment is
designed to help develop creativity,
independence, and respect for self and
others in accordance with the Montessori
philosophy.

APPETIZERS

Well Rounded Platter
This
platter is filled with all the
ingredients for developing coordination,
concentration, and independence, in all
child-centered activities.
Finger Platter
Environmentally rich, where little
fingers learn from our famous "hands on
Educational Process" how to handle and
experiment with a variety of learning
tools to develop their individual
skills.

The 4th of July Platter
Teaches the
child "independence: towards the daily
routines such as tying shoes, zipping
coats, and cleaning up after themselves
thus enabling him or her to build self
confidence and self esteem through a
variety of entertaining teaching
methods.
ENTREES
Practical Life
Practical Life
provides a natural link between home and
school. Here the child learns at his or
her own pace such everyday activities as
buttoning, lacing, pouring, cleaning,
polishing, & washing. The goals here are
to help the child develop self-reliance
and muscle control. Emphasis is also
placed on the care of the environment
and ones self through the Montessori
philosophy.
Sensorial
Dr. Montessori
invented a variety of materials that
assist in the development of the five
senses. These items, such as the pink
tower, sound cylinders, and smelling bottles, all
are oriented to advance the child’s
development of dimension and sense.

Math
The greatest
invention of Dr. Montessori is the
materialized abstraction in the field of
mathematics. The materials start with
learning quantity and numerals to
advanced material in addition,
subtraction, and the decimal system.
Language
Teaches the
child to associate words and sounds with
objects, which is the fundamental
beginning of reading. The sand paper
letters are used as a preparation for
writing and the beginning of phonetics.
Science
Teaches the
child color theory by hands on mixing of
the primary colors. This also includes a
look at artists and their individual
styles. The tools and criteria used are
crayons, paints, color paper and
collages which will also provide you
with your own budding artist’s works for
your refrigerator.

Art
Through the
use of many hands-on materials as well
as experiments, the world of science is
studied. These areas may include the
study of animals, magnets, dinosaurs,
plus much, much, more!
Geography
Your child
will learn about who we are, where we
live and our neighbors throughout the
world. We will discover with the use of
maps and globes the various continents,
countries, and states.
