Youth from the Youth Services Bureau
will be helping with games, crafts, and face-painting at
an event to celebrate National Alex’s Lemonade Stand
Day on the Windsor Town Green on Saturday,
June 11th. Alexandra "Alex" Scott was the
8 year old founder of Alex’s lemonade Stand for
Pediatric Cancer Research. Two days before her first
birthday she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an
aggressive childhood cancer. At the age of four, Alex
opened her first lemonade stand with the idea of
donating the proceeds to "her hospital". Although Alex
died in 2004, her tradition of celebrating spring with a
lemonade stand to benefit cancer research continues
nationally. Be a part of helping reach Alex’s goal of $5
million dollars raised for Pediatric Cancer Research at
Windsor’s celebration on the green.
