June 3: Do you love taking photos on vacation or at family events but you are not getting the images you want? Or maybe you are getting great pictures but don’t know why. Digital Photography Beginner is the course for you. All the basics of photography will be covered, including setting the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO; working with depth-of-field; selecting lenses; backing-up; simple editing and cataloging. The specific controls on your camera that mystify most beginners will be explained thoroughly. Basic color theory and practical lighting applications will be introduced. Everyone should bring his or her digital camera (with instruction booklet) to class, along with photos they have taken, saved as JPGs, on a flash drive. Prerequisite? Absolutely none! Class is taught by Peter Glass, a professional photographer for over 25 years. His work can be viewed at $120.00 for three sessions on June 3, June 10 and June 24 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the L.P. Wilson Community Center. 860-285-1990.
