Goal
The goal of the police
department is simple - to
eliminate crime in town –
and the Neighborhood Watch
Program (NWP) plays
an important part in that
goal. Windsor’s NWP
is all about building
relationships and increasing
communication between
residents and members of the
Windsor Police Department. An
increase in communication
helps to reduce crime.
Who
can join
Any community resident can
join a Neighborhood Watch
– young and old; single and
married; renter and homeowner.
And NW’s are one of the most
effective and least costly
ways to prevent crime and
reduce fear. In addition to
residents, any group that
regularly meets can also hold
their own Watch --
banks, business owners, senior
citizens, civic groups, or
religious organizations, to
name a few.
Meetings
Meetings are casual and
always informative! Guest
speakers discuss a variety of
topics like
alternative-heating safety,
Identity Theft, child-safety,
crime prevention, and safety
awareness. Members learn how
to report activities that
raise their suspicion, how to
watch out for one another and
how to make their own homes
and neighborhood a safer place
to be.
Besides the NWP the
Windsor Police also sponsor a
WEB site (windsorpolice.com)
and a weekly half-hour show On
the Beat with the Windsor
Police Department shown
Mondays at 7pm on WIN-TV to
keep citizens informed with
what’s going on in town.
