Clerical Assistant

The Town of Windsor seeks a part-time Clerical Assistant to work at Northwest Park. Performs clerical work involving typing, general correspondence, reporting and scheduling. Responds to public questions, collects data to prepare the monthly program attendance and budget report; completes facility use and program registrations, schedules school programs; completes and submits requested news releases; orders office supplies and provides positive customer service. The successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or equiv. Minimum of two yrs exp with clerical work and exp and skill using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Publisher preferred. Ability to work independently; ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and the general public. Works Weds from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm and Thurs & Fris from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. 19 hrs/week. Starting wage: $11/hr. Deadline for applications and/or resumes: 4/4/08. Lifeguard

The Windsor Recreation Services seeks a full-time summer lifeguard. The lifeguard will provide aquatic instruction in classes and programs based upon the guidelines and standard operating procedures set by the American Red Cross. Performing duties may include possible phone usage (talking/listening), greeting participants, verbal class instruction and equipment/pool setup. Requirements: Must have lifeguard certification and WSI preferred. Previous aquatics program teaching exp required. Current CPR and First Aid Certification are also required or willing to receive. Salary $8-9/hr, negotiable, depending on exp. Deadline 4/4/08.

Spring School Break Camp Counselor

Northwest Park & Nature Center, a 473-acre municipal park in Windsor, CT seeks April School Break Camp Counselors during April 21-25.  These positions will focus on leading children grades 1-8 in nature exploration through hands on experiments, activities and crafts.  Applicants must have at least one year of college experience and/or prior teaching or environmental education experience.  Work hours are 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.  Starting date is April 21st and the ending date is April 25th.  Wage is $9.00-$14.75/per hour, depending upon experience.  Red Cross First Aid and CPR training are preferred.  Drug screening is required before hiring.  Closing date: As filled. Police Officers

The Town of Windsor is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Salary range is $52,141 - $68,202 with an excellent benefits plan. At date of hire you must: be a U.S. citizen, at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and a HS Diploma or GED. Motivation, enthusiasm, and commitment to the community are a must. Testing includes written exam, oral exam, report writing exercise, physical agility exam, extensive background investigation, psychological exam, polygraph exam and physical with drug screen exam. Valid CHIP certification accepted. Successful candidates will be required to pass the certification-training program at the Police Academy.

Civil Engineer Intern

The Town of Windsor seeks a civil engineer intern. Work schedule can be arranged around classes and school breaks. Duties include: completing inventory of map files and updating map index, assisting field survey crew, inspecting construction contracts, assist in inventory of drainage systems using GPS, taking pictures of active and proposed construction projects.
