Windsor’s
Development Services
department is responsible for
guiding the public and private
development of land and
buildings in Windsor. This
team works together to conduct
building and fire code
inspections, review plans of
construction projects, direct
fire investigations, assist in
planning and design
development, enforce building
and zoning regulations, and
provide assistance in case of
fire and other emergencies.
The
Development Services
department follows the Town of
Windsor Plan of Development,
adopted by the Windsor Town
Planning & Zoning
Commission, which outlines our
community standards for
promoting the safety, welfare
and orderly development of
Windsor. The Windsor Zoning
Regulations are the written
rules which govern land use in
Windsor and are intended to
implement the Plan of
Development.
The
department is made up of a
Planning program and a
Building Safety Program. Each
program helps residents and
business owners to comply with
all applicable codes,
standards, state statutes, and
ordinances which pertain to
development in the Town of
Windsor.
