Annual Budget Referendum

6:00 AM to 8:00 PM


Absentee ballots are available in the Windsor Town Clerk's Office during regular business hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is Monday, June 24th at 5:00 p.m. Voters must complete a separate application for each referendum.

This referendum is scheduled with less than 3 weeks notice; as a result, absentee ballots may only be issued in person to the applicant or the applicant's designee at the Town Clerk's Office. If you need additional information about designating a person to pick-up your ballot, please call 860-285-1902.

 

If you are not a registered voter, but do own property assessed at $1,000 or more on the last completed Grand List, you may vote on the annual budget at Town Hall.

Join us on Thursday, June 20th for the 17th Annual "Just for Fun Dog Show" on the Town Green. This year we will be honoring service dogs that enhance the lives of Windsor residents with disabilities. If you have a service dog, or know anyone who does, please let us know as we would like to recognize them as well.

June is Dog Licensing Month

June is dog licensing month and dog owners are reminded to purchase a new license by June 30th. By state law, dogs six months of age or older must be licensed annually. All dogs must be vaccinated against rabies and owners must submit a current rabies certificate to the Town Clerk's office when licensing their dog. The license fee for dogs that are neutered or spayed is $8 and the fee for dogs that have not been altered is $19.

 

Dog licenses may be purchased in person at the Town Clerk's office during regular business hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) or by mail. When applying by mail, please include a check for the proper fee made payable to the Town of Windsor and all certificates (rabies and nuertered/spayed), and a self addressed, stamped envelope. Mail to: Town Clerk's office, 275 Broad Street, Windsor CT 06095.

 

Dogs not licensed in June will be charged a penalty of $1 per month there after.

Windsor Joins Commercial and Industrial Clean Energy Financing Program

Businesses in Windsor can now get 100% upfront, low-cost, and long-term financing to make clean energy improvements to their buildings. Windsor has opted into a state-wide program called Commercial and Industrial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE), which allows commercial, industrial and multi-family property owners to access upfront funding for all energy improvement costs and to repay that investment through a benefit assessment charge on their property tax bill. The Town Council approved a resolution to do so May 6, 2013.
