It is proposed to replace the 2 existing 36” reinforced concrete pipe culverts carrying Rainbow Brook under Rainbow Road with a 10’ x 3’ reinforced concrete box culvert. This project was initiated to reduce the possibility of flooding in this area. Significant flooding occurred during October 2005. In addition to the culvert being replaced, work includes footings, relocation of an 8” water line, guide railing, pavement restoration and other related work.

The contract for the replacement of the culvert was awarded to Hammonasset of Clinton, CT. The Metropolitan District Commission will inspect and tie-in the water line.
