What are the administrative office hours?The Administrative office for recreation is location at the LP Wilson Community at 599 Matianuck Ave. The office is open Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm and Saturdays 12:00pm - 5:00pm. Staff is also available during those times to answer your phone calls (860-285-1990). Northwest Park office hours are Monday - Saturday 8:30am - 4:30pm. How do I register a concern, complaint or compliment?You may register a concern by contacting us online, or by calling the Recreation offices at (860) 285-1990 or Northwest Park (860) 285-1886, at which time it will be directed to the appropriate division manager or Department Director. back to top
How can I register for a program?There are three ways to register.
Do I need an ID number to register for a program online?Yes, you do. Just follow the steps listed here. Please, call the Recreation office if you need help.

Can I get a refund on a program?All refunds will be credited to your customer account unless program registration fee was paid by credit card, in which case a refund will be credited back to your credit card account. Refunds processed back to credit cards usually appear on the next month’s statement. back to top

How do I register my child for youth sports?Youth sports are offered by the recreation department of group volunteers associations. The following is a list of phone numbers.
How do I know if a program is cancelled?If a program is cancelled we make every effort to contact the participant or facility users. For the latest information and cancellations of Windsor Recreation and Leisure Services activities, please contact our info-line at (860) 285-1988
Is there a non-resident fee for programs?Yes, for most of our programs have at least a $10.00 non-resident fee. For more information, please call the Recreation office (285-1990).
Why can't I not hit golf balls in a park, especially if no one is there?When a person is hitting a golf ball the ball travels over a great deal of space and anyone who happens to be within that space is at danger of being hit. When hitting golf balls one digs up grass and leaves divots, which makes the area unsafe. In additional, golf balls left behind in the grass can also easily be picked up by the large mowers used by maintenance crews and become dangerous high speed objects that may cause serious damage or injury.
When do the outdoor pools open and where are they?Welch and Goslee Pool open each year the weekend of Memorial Day and close upon the end of Labor Day. Please view the pool schedules are there are subject to change. Welch Pool is location in the Poquonock area of Windsor on Niles Road and Goslee Pools is in the Wilson area of town on Mills Road. Parking for Goslee Pool is also located on Windsor Ave.
What are the park hours?All parks are open dawn to dusk.
Who should I contact if I see something in a park that requires attention?You may call the Recreation office at 285-1990 or Public Works at 285-1855.
Who can I talk with about a wildlife or other nature related question?Call the Northwest Park office (285-1886).
How do I reserve a facility, park or athletic field?All facility requests are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and will only be accepted one year in advance of the requested date (unless otherwise noted). Liability Insurance Coverage naming the Town of Windsor as an additional insure for a minimum of one (1) million dollars is required and must be submitted within 48hours of approval. |
