Locations of Sand/Salt Containers
Look for YELLOW sand containers at the following locations (for residential use only):
Sharshon Park (Skitchewaug St. off Windsor Avenue, Wilson)
L P Wilson Community Center (599 Matianuck Avenue)
Mechanic Street - Commuter Parking Lot (behind Town Hall, next to the dog pound across from the Parks Dept. building)
Oliver Ellsworth School (Kennedy Road)
Public Works Complex (99 Day Hill Road, off Poquonock Avenue, Exit 38 off I-91) Plain sand is also available at this location.
Poquonock Fire House (1575 Poquonock Avenue)
Rainbow Fire House (750 Rainbow Road)
Winter Parking Regulations
As a reminder, please do not park vehicles on the street between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. between November 15 and April 15.
During a snow or ice storm, no parking on the street is permitted when a storm has been in progress for one (1) hour.
Vehicles are not permitted to be left on the street impeding normal snow plowing operations and the free flow of traffic during a snow storm.
