About Us

The Windsor Senior Center, located at 599 Matianuck Avenue, is a municipally operated non-profit resource center for Windsor adult residents over the age of 55. Averages of 500 seniors visit the center each week. Opportunities for disabled adults are also available.

The staff at the Windsor Senior Center is committed to recognizing the needs of the diverse population of senior adults in the Town of Windsor. We strive to provide older residents with endless opportunities. Working with them so their voices will be heard and viewing their years of experience and wisdom is a priceless tool in making the center the wonderful place it is.

Services and activities offered by the Windsor Senior Center link participants with resources offered by other agencies, as well as provide them with a wide variety of programs and events for both individuals and groups.

Batter Up Baking Contest

Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

We know you are all great bakers — so join this fun contest and hit a ‘home run’ with your baking skills.  The baking categories include: Cookies, Cupcakes & Pies.  You must be a Windsor resident age 55 or more and you can enter up to two items. The deadline to register is Friday, January 20th. Click here for an official entry form, or obtain one at the Windsor Senior Center. Prizes will be awarded for each of the categories as follows:  1st Place—$75, 2nd—$50; 3rd—$25; and Best in Show—$100 and free dinner for 2 at Seabury.  Good luck!

Everyone is invited to attend  the big event on Wednesday, January 25, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.  Award-winning Pastry Chef Corinne Robar will hold a free cooking demonstration at 1:00 PM.  You’ll also get to sample the baked good entries and be there when the judges award prizes in each category.  Entrants must deliver their baked goods for judging between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM that day.

Our panel of judges:  Chef Ken Cassella of Seabury, Chef Robbie Niemann of Zocco’s Italian Restaurant, and Chef Remo Santilli of Seabury. Sponsored by Seabury, Bloomfield and the Windsor Senior Center.
