EXERCISE CLASSES

The Senior Center offers a wide variety of exercise classes to meet all of your needs.   Current information can be viewed in the Senior Newsletter (go to Senior Center Home Page).  Sign up on-line or at the Windsor Senior Center.  Call 285-1992 with questions.  Here are just a few of our on-going classes:

Adults In Motion meets Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Senior Center.  This exercise class incorporates balance, stretching, walking and energetic exercise.  Participants can choose to exercise sitting in chairs, if preferred.  New participants always welcome.

Gentle Yoga Class can help you lower your blood pressure and increase circulation as well as increase your flexibility, energy and stamina.  You will also learn how to relax and meditate.  Class meets Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Senior Center.

Tai Chi is a gentle yet powerful form of exercise that combines fluid movements with energy circulation, breathing and stretching techniques. Improve muscle tone, balance and reduce stress. Classes are offered in a two-month session, once a week on Fridays from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM.

Walking Club meets every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 9:00 AM at the Senior Center to walk indoors, or during good weather at the Dog Pound on Mechanic Street for a walk around Windsor Center River Trail.  Walkers total their miles, chart it on a map and reach far away destinations. Free.

Water Fitness meets twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays.  There are two sessions from which to choose 11:45 AM to 12:45,  or 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.   Exercises are done in shallow water and do not require swimming or putting the head under water.  This is a great exercise program for those with arthritis.  Classes are held at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel indoor pool on Day Hill Road throughout the year.  During the summer months, an additional Water Fitness class is held at the Windsor High Indoor pool.

Young at Heart exercise happens every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Senior Center.
