Who we are

Windsor Social Services is staffed with a team of professionally trained caseworkers and support staff who are available to work with you and your family in determining your particular needs and the services and programs that are available to you.

Social Services provides :




  • case management
  • eligibility screening for financial assistance programs
  • assessments for home care services
  • assistance in understanding insurance options
  • information and referral services
  • support groups
  • and educational opportunities to Windsor residents

 

Social Services also administers the Windsor Food Bank, the Windsor Fuel Bank, and Holiday Programs. Windsor Social Services coordinates a wide variety of volunteer opportunities and many of our programs are supported by Windsor C.A.R.E.S. and Windsor Food and Fuel Bank.

SURVEY SAYS...

SOCIAL SERVICES CONSUMER SATISFACTION SURVEY is now being conducted.

Please help us to serve you better.  Your feedback is very important to us.

The Social Services Department is doing a consumer satisfaction survey during the fall months of September, October and November. Surveys were mailed to existing clients.  If you have not received one, you can pick one up in the office, from our Senior Center wall display and in the food bank. This survey will also be available through a link on our website on the top of the page.  Please take a few minutes to complete our survey. 

 

 

Diabetic Support Group. This group will meet on Tuesday, October 18th AT ITS NEW TIME OF 11:00 AM at the LP Wilson Community Center.

 

 

Foreclosure Prevention Workshop.  This evening event will be held on Wednesday, September 28th. This program will be a panel discussion covering foreclosure prevention services and resources to assist homeowners facing these issues. Click Here to view event flier.

 

Pancakes and Colored Pencils. An art therapy event. Does your child have difficulty expressing his/her inner feelings? Studies have shown that art theraphy helps develop problem-solving skills and increases the ability to identify and express both positive and negative feelings.  Saturday, October 22nd starting at 8:30 am.  Click Here to view event flier.

2016-2017 Weekend Wheels Backpack Program

Social Services is currently taking applications for the 2016-2017 Weekend Wheels backpack program. This is a supplemental weekend food program that provides a backpack on wheels to elementary age children to bring home on Fridays filled with food and snack items.
