Who we are

Windsor Social Services is staffed with a team of professionally trained caseworkers and support staff who are available to work with you and your family in determining your particular needs and the services and programs that are available to you.

Social Services provides :







  • case management
  • eligibility screening for financial assistance programs
  • assessments for home care services
  • assistance in understanding insurance options
  • information and referral services
  • support groups
  • and educational opportunities to Windsor residents

 

Social Services also administers the Windsor Food Bank, the Windsor Fuel Bank, and Holiday Programs. Windsor Social Services coordinates a wide variety of volunteer opportunities and many of our programs are supported by Windsor C.A.R.E.S. and Windsor Food and Fuel Bank.

SPECIAL EVENTS 

We will not be hosting our Diabetic Support Group on our regular day and time during the month of June.  Instead, we will be joining with the Windsor Senior Center for a special event, Diabetes Management Program on Wednesday, June 24th.  Click Here to view the flier for this special event. 

 

SNAP Outreach Events, (formerly known as the food Stamp program).  A SNAP blitz event will be held twice a month to assist people in signing up for the program.  Click here see attached flier for days and times. 

 

 

 ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

FREE Summer Meals In Windsor.  Summer Meals is a program that takes place throughout Connecticut and across the country providing FREE daily meals to kids and teens 18 years and younger.  The Windsor locations for the program are at the Deerfield Apartments from 12:00 - 12:45 pm and then at Goslee Pool from 1:00 - 1:45 pm.  The program runs Monday through Friday throughout the summer from June 22nd - August 28th. The Goslee Pool location includes activities for the children.  Click Here to see flier.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH WINDSOR SOCIAL SERVICES

Windsor Social Services currently has volunteer opportunities for our food programs including shift coverage at the Windsor Food Bank, food stocking, weekly food pickups and Groceries To Go home delivery.  

 

We are also seeking volunteers for a new program, Hello Neighbor - a friendly social phone call program.

Social Services New Part-Time Caseworker

We are happy to announce that Evelyn Baez has been hired as a part-time caseworker in the Social Services Department.  Evelyn's primary responsibility will be with energy assistance and the administration of the Windsor Fuel Bank throughout the year.  Evelyn is fluent in the Spanish language.
