Food Bank

 
 

The Windsor Food Bank is made possible through donations, the fund-raising of the Windsor Community Service Council, and the efforts of staff and volunteers. If you wish to use the Food Bank, you must complete an application and show us proof of where you live, who lives with you, and the income of everyone in your home. 

The table below shows a yearly gross income for each family size. If your household income is at or below the income listed for household size, you are eligible to use the Food Bank:

You are also eligible to use the Food Bank if your household participates in any of the following programs:

 
  • Food Stamps
  • State Administered General Assistance (SAGA)
 
  • Energy Assistance
  • Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
 
  • WIC
  • State Supplement to the Blind or Disabled
 
  • School Meals
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
 
  • Husky Part A or Part B
  • Section 8 Rental Assistance Program

 

The Food Bank is located at the L. P. Wilson Community Center at 599 Matianuck Avenue. (When you are facing the front of the building, go left to the south end of the building, turn right, and enter the first door you come to.) The Food Bank includes an assortment of canned and packaged goods, frozen meats, and fresh produce. You may use the Food Bank once each month.

You may also mail the application with copies of all household income and residence proof to Social Services, 599 Matianuck Ave., Windsor, CT 06095, or FAX it to 683-2310.

Food Bank Hours:

Monday and Tuesday 9:00AM-11:15 AM
Wednesday and Thursday 1:00PM-3:15 PM
