Support Groups

 

Caregivers Support Group: This is a group for people who are caring for loved ones. This group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM at the LP Wilson Community Center. Call 285-1839 for more information or to be put on the mailing list.

Diabetic Support Group: This group meets the 1st Wednesday of each month at the LP Wilson Community Center from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM. Participants have an opportunity to learn from guest speakers and from one another. People with diabetes, their families and friends are welcome. Call 285-1842 for more information or to be put on the mailing list.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: Grandparents who are raising their grandchildren meet to support one another and to hear speakers on topics they have requested. The programs are held at the LP Wilson Community Center. For more information or to be put on the mailing list, call 285-1842.

Helping to Hear Better Support Group: This is a group for people with all ranges and types of hearing difficulties or hearing loss. The group meets monthly on the 3rd or 4th Wednesday from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the LP Wilson Community Center. Call 285-1839 for more information or to be put on the mailing list.

The Low Vision Group is for people with low vision or blindness. The Low Vision Group is currently not meeting on a regular schedule.  We meet twice a year with a Speaker who provides information on a low vision topic.  Meetings are held at the LP Wilson Community Center. SHARE is a support group for adults with disabilities. The group meets monthly at L.P. Wilson Community Center to work on a community project or to go on an educational field trip. Please call Elaine Richards for more information at 285-1842.

Widow/Widower’s/Singles Social Group: This group meets Thursdays at 10:30 AM at the LP Wilson Community Center. Call the Senior Center, 285-1992.
