Holiday Programs

Windsor Social Services provides assistance to identified individuals and families through various holiday programs.  Many of our programs are supported by the Windsor Community Service Council.

To help celebrate Thanksgiving, turkeys and trimmings are distributed to households registered with the Windsor Food Bank.  Turkeys are received from Foodshare and trimmings and additional turkeys are donated by individuals, businesses, religious institutions, schools, and civic groups.

We also collaborate with other town departments to organize the annual Holiday Toy Drive and Distribution.  Toys are donated by individuals, businesses, religious institutions, schools, and civic groups. Toys are then distributed to families with children who are eligible for various Social Services Programs such as the Windsor Fuel Bank and the Windsor Food Bank.

Windsor Social Services also distributes gift cards to local grocery stores at various holiday times throughout the year based on availability.
