Deloitte & Touche IMPACT DAY
This past Friday, more than 150 Deloitte
& Touche LLP employees spent the day at the town’s Community
Center at 330 Windsor Avenue as part of National IMPACT Day.
Every Deloitte & Touche firm nation-wide participates in
this annual event and joins in the cause of helping local
communities.
The work completed by the volunteers
was quite impressive including the installation of a garden
patio at the Caring Connection, the painting of several
rooms including the gymnasium, clearing of overgrown areas
and the planting of shrubs in the rear of the building, and
in the vicinity of Sharshon Park, and many other small
repairs throughout the building.
Deloitte & Touche is one of the
nation's leading professional services firms. The company
has 30,000 people working in more than 100 offices across
the country. In Connecticut, offices are located in
Hartford, Stamford, Wilton, and Nyala.
Worker Compensation Update
As of April 30, 2005 the Town and
Windsor Public Schools have incurred 69 worker compensation
injuries with a total reserve and paid as of the same period
of $118,000. During last fiscal year, the Town and Board of
Education had 88 injuries with a total incurred of $322,000
including medical and indemnity payments and reserves.
Over the past 13 years, our average
number of claims per year was 128 and the total incurred
average has been $368,092 annually.
We expect that the total number of
claims will be below the 88 from last year and that the
total incurred will be below $185,000 after all claims from
this fiscal year are properly reserved. We believe the
reason for this low number of worker compensation claims is
due in part to increased safety awareness of all employees.
June is Dog Licensing Month
In Connecticut, the month of June is
the time to license your dog. All dogs six months of age or
older must be licensed each year. Registration can be done
in person at the Town Clerk’s Office or through the mail.
Fees for a dog license are $8.00 for a spayed or neutered
dog, or $19.00 for a dog that has not been spayed or
neutered. If you are registering by mail, please send a
self-addressed stamped envelope with payment.
All those purchasing a license need to
provide a valid rabies certificate and a certificate stating
that your dog has been spayed or neutered.
The "Just for Fun Dog Show" will be
held on Thursday, June 23rd on the Town Green.
Registration begins at 5:30 PM and the judging begins at
6:00 PM.

Clerk’s Office at 285-1902.
