Torchlight Parade
My thanks to those who participated in the recent Torchlight Parade as well as the Windsor Volunteer Firefighters and the Windsor Chamber of Commerce for organizing this annual winter tradition.

Acceptance of construction & demolition material at landfill
Per Town Council direction last July, staff plans to begin accepting construction and demolition materials containing gypsum in January. C&D materials from transfer facilities which do not remove gypsum prior to disposal will not be allowed.

The gas collection system has worked well in the past 11 months. The entire area where C&D materials are disposed of is served by the gas collection system. As we have done in the past, we will add horizontal collectors and increase the height of the vertical wells as additional waste is deposited.

Transportation Alternatives for Day Hill Road & NE Tradeport Area

This past week, I was pleased to meet with members of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and major employers in the Day Hill Road Corridor and International Drive Area to discuss their transportation needs.

This Chamber of Commerce led initiative also involves representatives from Rideshare and CT Transit.

The goal of the committee is to be better informed about the transportation options for Windsor employers and employees, and to help develop further options / routes / schedules to accommodate the needs of business and their employees.
