tourism, the Passport program provides an opportunity to win

Restrooms at Sage Park & WHS
At the last Council meeting a concern
was raised regarding restroom facilities at Sage Park.
Recreation staff has confirmed with the Director of the
Windsor Youth Baseball Association, that he is opening the
restroom facilities located at the Sage Park Concession
building. The town will have the restrooms cleaned on a
regular basis and they will be available for public use
weekdays and weekends while games are in progress.
Tax Bills
Tax bills are being were mailed on
Friday, June 24th. Although all taxes are due by
July 1st, which has obviously passed, there is a
30-day grace period that ends on August 1st. If a
bill is paid on August 2nd, it is classified as
"delinquent" and will be issued a tax penalty of 3% for that
month. Each month thereafter, a late charge of 1-1/2 %
penalty will be added per State statutes (calculated from
the original tax amount) with a maximum amount of 18% of
penalties to be administered for late fees per year. In
addition to the traditional method of paying your tax bill
directly at the Tax Office on the main floor of Town Hall,
residents are reminded that they can save time by mailing
their payment or utilizing the drop-box located in the rear
parking lot of Town Hall. For more information, call
285-1810.
Day Hill & Prospect Hill Road Traffic
Signal
A concern was raised at the last
Council meeting regarding the "timing" of the traffic signal
at the Day Hill Road and Prospect Hill Road intersection.
The "loop detectors", a system of wires buried in the road
pavement, which "tell" the traffic signal that a vehicle has
come to the intersection were broken at this location. With
the loop detectors broken, the traffic signal cannot detect
that a vehicle is at the intersection and the signal goes
through its standard timing cycle for determining when the
light should turn red or green. Staff has temporarily
re-routed the wiring at this location around the break and
has also contacted the vendor to make permanent repairs. It
is anticipated the repairs will be completed early this
month.
