Neighborhood Assistance Act

The State of Connecticut, acting through its Department of Revenue Services, is once again offering municipal and tax exempt organizations an opportunity to participate in the Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) Program.  The NAA Program helps organizations leverage contributions

By offering a 60% tax credit against a participating businesses' corporate tax liability, subject to certain restrictions.  The Office of Community Development will solicit applications which are due by May 26, 2006.  The Town Council will be asked to set a public hearing on the matter in June so as to allow for Council action in accordance with the program requirements.

Spring Leaf Program

Windsor Sanitation will be picking up leaves the week of April 17th through the 21st as part of their annual spring clean-up in recognition of Earth Day.  Leaves should be placed in brown paper bags and placed on the curb on the regular pick-up day in your neighborhood.  This service is offered to all residents, even if they are not regular Windsor Sanitation customers.  For more information, call 688-3955.

 
 

Volunteer “Patients” Needed for Public Health Exercise

The Windsor Health Department is seeking volunteers to help test the state and local response to a mock biomedical disaster during a statewide emergency preparedness exercise on Wednesday, April 19th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Smith Middle School in Glastonbury.

Volunteers must be 16 years or older.  Those under the age of 16 may participate if accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Since the mock exercise is scheduled during April vacation week, officials are hopeful many families will become involved.

Landfill Closing Reminder

As a reminder to landfill customers, please note that the landfill will be closed Saturday, April 15th due to the Easter holiday.
