MDC Sewer Extensions

In December 2006, a resident who lives on Orchard Lane approached the Health Department asking that the town support a neighborhood petition to extend the MDC sewer system to homes on the east side of Windsor Avenue between Island Road and Orchard Lane.  After researching the resident’s request, Health Department Director Dr. Charles Petrillo sent a letter to the MDC voicing support for the residents’ petition.  On February 7, 2007, the town received a letter from the MDC indicating that they have moved this project up on their priority list of sewer projects and will be conducting a survey of the residents in the area in order to obtain their “feedback on the installation and assessment costs for the sewers.”  Once that feedback is obtained, the MDC will determine whether to proceed with design, layout, assessment and then a public hearing.  I will keep Council informed as to how this project is proceeding.

Assessment Reductions and Benefits Guide
