Bicycle Auction

The Windsor Police Bicycle Auction will be held on Saturday September 29, 2007 beginning at 10:00 AM at the rear of the Windsor Public Safety Complex at 340 Bloomfield Avenue.

Bikes will be available for viewing beginning at 9:30 AM.  Cash or Personal Checks will be accepted, and all bikes purchased must be removed at the end of the auction.

 

 

Teen Activities at the Main Library

I am pleased to announce a variety of special teen programs that will be offered at the Library this fall.    

A Teen Iron Chef Challenge, modeled on the TV show will be held on Sept. 19th.

Teen Read Week programs will be offered Oct 14th – 18th, including a book review writing contest.

A ‘Horror Movie Marathon’ will be held on October 30th and several video game tournaments have been scheduled. 

In addition, Windsor teens can participate in a national book cart decorating contest as well as participate in the election of CT Nutmeg Book Awards.

Town Green Improvement Project Update

Phase 2 of the Town Green Improvements Project is scheduled to be finished this week.  This includes the connecting side walks from the Luddy House to Town Hall and the handicap ramp at the Post Office. In addition, lighting will be installed this week.  Equipment and materials will be moved to the southern portion of the town green for the start of Phase 3 next week. 

 

 

Citizen’s Academy

Just a reminder that registrations for the 4th session of the Town of Windsor Citizen’s Academy are now being accepted.    This seven-week interactive program begins this Wednesday, September 19th in the Town Hall Council Chambers from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  Learn more about the operations of various town and Board of Education departments.  The academy meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at various town facilities.  The program is free, and anyone 18 years or older, living or working in Windsor is welcome to apply by calling 285-1835 or on the town’s website at townofwindsorct.com.
