Romp & LearnThe Romp-N-Learn After-School program provides an array of exciting and stimulating activities for children in grades 1 -5. Daily activities include homework time, group games, teambuilding activities, sports, arts & crafts, adventure, science, and Wise kidz a nationally publicized healthy lifestyle program. Plus each child receives a healthy snack to help them concentrate on having fun! Transportation from each Windsor Public School is provided. The program is held at the 330 Windsor Avenue Community Center, Monday – Friday, 3:00pm – 6:00pm. For more information on how your child can have fun and a little homework time each day after school, call the recreation office at 285-1990 or click the forms link and complete a Romp-N-Learn packet.

Windsor Instructional Basketball League (WIBL)

Windsor Instructional Basketball LeagueYou like Basketball? We got basketball! The Windsor Recreation and Leisure Services Youth Basketball League is an instructional/recreational league open to all Windsor boys and girls grades 2nd thru 12th. Basic fundamentals and sportsmanship are stressed. Teams will practice once a week and play games on the weekends. Teams consist of 2nd and 3rd grade coed, 4th and 5th grade, 6th and 7th grade, 8th and 9th, 10th thru 12th grade, which are separated into boys and girls leagues. Practices and games will begin in early January. The cost is: $45 first family member, $35 second child, $30 third child ($110 max/family). All participants must attend at least one clinic. Clinic schedule will be posted on the website. Space is limited, so register early. You may register starting Monday, October 15th, 2009 at the recreation office, 599 Matianuck Avenue, Windsor, CT 06095.

If you are interested in exercise classes try joining one of our Cardio Blast, Cardio Kickboxing, Water Fitness, or Butts & Guts classes. If you are ready to find your groove come show your dance moves with: Adult Dance & Exercise or our newest class Zumba! For those who want to show their sporting talents, Adult Basketball and Volleyball, as well as Adult Golf Lessons are offered. .

Northwest ParkNorthwest Park offers wonderful opportunities for relieving your winter cabin fever! Exciting winter festivals, winter tracking hikes, programs for senior citizens, and cross country skiing and snowshoe rentals are just a few of the fantastic winter activities at Northwest Park! This time of year is PERFECT for hiking or a little cross-country skiing!! If there’s 6 inches of snow on the ground, then you need to come down to Northwest Park for some outdoor FUN! Youth Services Bureau

Youth Services BureauThe Youth Services Bureau’s Youth Adventures After-School program is a great place for middle school youth to spend their after school hours Monday through Friday 2:45PM – 5:30PM while enjoying activities in a safe environment at the L. P. Wilson Center. Our Youth Center includes an art space, computer lab, foosball, ping pong and pool tables. Enrichment activities are offered in art, computer projects, hands on science discovery, nature, gardening, cooking, and outdoor games. Weekly field trips to the Windsor Public Library are offered and a monthly field trip to exciting places provides rewarding FUN and LEARNING for the young people. A highlight of our program is its service learning component in which the youth design and participate in a variety of community projects.
